I got my space!!! yupiiii!!!

I´m so sure that dreams can come true... ok,ok, you are right...... tiene que ser un sueño alcanzable!! no se vale un simple... I want to be millionaire, or a top model, or have a Ferrari!!! and even those dreams can eventually come true if you HAVE A PLAN and have the energy and voluntad to follow.... my is on it´s way, pero estoy trabajando so hard to get it!! Uno de los tantos pasitos que dar... mi laboratorio, estudio, atelier.... name it how you want.... And here are the first pictures!!! I moved the 2 boys together... así pueden compenetrarse más como hermanos, y aprender el arte de la convivencia (tan necesario). And I took that empty room for MixeDesigns, that little project I have dando vueltas in my head....

Purple Jacket!!!

After a lot of interruptions.... Finally done!!! I thought it was going to be a 3 day job... but nop! I took me a little longer, taking in consideration 3 kids, house, husband and full time job!!! not simple!!!

This fabric I bought in Lisbon, while we were on vacation over in December!!! I love the way it turn out... In fact, I think for a first time is not bad at all, and will do it again soon!!!

Actually is a little bit too cold right now in Barcelona to wear it, but for sure will be very nice in a couple of months when spring gets closer.

This time I had no art involved, or message (like I love to do!!), very simple, casual look...

What do you think?? Any suggestions? Or possible variation for the future?

Hola! en las navidades que pasaron, hice algunos regalos personalizados y especiales... Desde que vivo en España, me he dado cuenta de la importancia de los delantales, lo prácticos que son y casi indisplensables no sólo para cocinar!!!

Les enseño los que hice para unos amig@s:

Aquí falta uno que no encuentro la foto!! y otro que le tengo a una quedira amiga, pero como no se lo he entregado aún.... prefiero poner las fotos luego!!!

Mañana Lunes ya!!! que rápido se pasa el finde.... para que el mundo laboral-personal fuera más equilibrado, sin duda los fines de semana deberían de ser con 3 días!!! quien se apunta???

Second life to an old blazer!!!

Hi there!! first time writing in English!! just to try out :-))!!

I had this blazer or jacket for a couple of years now... thought of getting rid of it several times, but never actually did, just because I sort of love the color!! it´s a color that I normally don´t see everyday... so I kept it in my closet and had this idea from a Burda Magazine in mind for some months... and a few days ago finally went to the fabric store and finally bought supplies...

Check out what I did to give a second life to this piece:

1- This is the boring blazer... but nice color:

2- Fabric store and got 1/2 yard of each color: light pink and a redish-orange one.

3- Measure fabric from the side and mark with succors future strips of 3 - 2 - 1 inch do this with each color, ripe it out by hand and take away the little thread that will come out of it, until each strip of fabric is nice and clean, and you are sure that is not gonna come any more thread from it....

4- After you have your strips, just start pining from the collar down, don´t do it all the way around cause it´s going to curve on the top, and look weird.... so cut strips in have and start from the top down, do it as you like, go crazy a bit.... then sew with zig zag the ones on the bottom. And let the ends loose so it has some movement...

5- The skinny ones I pinned them on top of the showing zig-zag, and by hand, every 5 inches I sew a little bit, that you can´t even notice... and then... tadddaaaaa, voilá:

I totally love how it looks!!! funky, modern and very relax... I love it!!!

Ya está aquí el 2011!!!

Es increíble lo rápido que ha pasado el tiempo, viéndolo en retrospectiva claro!! Ya estamos iniciando el 2011, WAO!! Muchas nuevas metas que cumplir, sitios que visitar, gente querida que ver, mucho que reflexionar, cosas que aprender y enseñar... tantas cosas, tantos planes, tantos deseos!!! A veces lo más difícil es simplemente comenzar.... Desde el 20 del mes pasado estoy disfrutando a lo grande mis merecidas vacaciones.... Estuvimos unos días super agradables en Portugal, allí hicimos turisteo y compartimos los días navideños con unos amigos que apreciamos mucho, en la vuelta a BCN el 30 de Diciembre, comenzé a valorar lo que fue el 2010 y la verdad que poniéndolo en papel lo aprecié mucho más y me dí cuenta que fue un gran año!!! Mucho para estar agradecida.... Sinceramente espero que el 2011 lo supere, tanto para mi como para todo el que lea estas líneas...

Bueno, ya mis vacaciones tienen los días contados.... así que tengo que ponerme a "producir", porque luego el tiempo será limitado... Aquí comparto con ustedes un "re-make" de una camiseta que hice hace unas semanitas... color para la próxima temporada según los gurus de la moda... pero para mi será para cuando el corazon me llame y me de deseos de estar a todo color!!

Aquí están las fotos... no sé que es lo que tiene este blogger, no entiendo porque la fotos se me cargan en HTML... así que no sé por donde escribir para dar los detalles...!!! soy muy buena con la técnología!! jejeje!. Pero todo muy simple: 2 camisetas iguales, una para cortar las tiras y la otra para la base. Rizar las tiras: una parte cosiendo por el lado superior (son los 2 vuelitos de abajo), la otra parte más finas y costura en el centro ( rizar para hacer el diseño deseado en la camiseta) yo además le puse canutillos para darle un poco de brillo arriba... A inventar señoras!!
