Two Colorful Top-skirt!

Hola!

This has been a very challenging weekend and week... Ufff!! I haven´t stop :::))) I´m exhausted!! Few days just doing the "carnaval" costumes that we´re all wearing on the street parade call "Rua" on Saturday!!

But anyway, I have finished this two colorful skirts. I´m very pleased with the results, and am planning to make some more for sure!! Take a look:

This is called: Encuentra el "arcoiris", which means Find the rainbow. A rainbow is just a beautiful phenomenon and brings good memories and feelings, so it´s an inspirational thing!

The second one is "Find it... be positive", is just a very happy attitude we all must try to have to get the best out of life!

El legado.... Lo puedes lograr!

Éste divertido pantalón le he preparado a mi hija en el fin de semana! Le he explicado lo que dice y la importancia que tiene para mi. La inspiración la he sacado de mi día a día. Si hay algo que quiero dejar de recuerdo o legado a mis hijos es la importancia de tener fuerza de voluntad y conseguir lo que se propongan.... quiero inspirarles, influirles y que me recuerden como una incansable viajera de sueños!! Esto sólo es posible con el ejemplo, logrando una congruencia entre lo que siento, pienso y hago...

Aquí puedo llegar a los 80 años escribiendo cosas de madres/padres y cual es la responsabilidad que tenemos con nuestros pequeños... nunca se me olvidará una charla que tomé en el Prescolar Nido en Santiago, cuando tenía allí a mi primogénito, el señor comentaba que imaginaramos nuestros hijos como árboles... que el 50% es responsabilidad nuestra: nutrir, dar amor, enseñar valores, tolerancia, responsabilidad, etc, etc.... y el otro 50% era complementado por el ambiente, este no teníamos control total nosotros ( aunque en la infancia si que podemos controlar bastante) y de esa combinación surgiría un arbol fuerte, sano, derecho y que daría una sombra placentera... es decir, sale el futuro hombre o mujer que hemos traido al mundo...

Con esto quiero concluir, que tenemos una labor titánica que acabará el día que dejemos de respira. Para mi es de gran importancia recordar a mis pequeños que "Lo pueden lograr" una y otra vez, siempre dar esa nota de positivismo, de ánimo y de apoyo, todavía después de 33 años, tengo la dicha de contar con esa fuerza de parte de mis padres, sobretodo mi Mamá... que es mi gran "coach"... Estoy infinitamente agradecida y siento que es de las cosas más importantes que he recibido en mi vida!

find here an inspiring tshirt I recently created! as the tittle of this post: Always try to follow your dreams, in Spanish: Siempre intenta seguir tus sueños....

Materials as always: recycle scraps of fabric, yarn, textile paint, beads, imagination, love, and most of all: PASSION!!! this is defenitly the thing that keeps us moving with enthusiasm towards our goals, it does not matter if is one little step at a time, the thing is to get started and then keep it going until you reach it!!!

I just did a little step, open at Etsy now.

Second life to an old blazer!!!

Hi there!! first time writing in English!! just to try out :-))!!

I had this blazer or jacket for a couple of years now... thought of getting rid of it several times, but never actually did, just because I sort of love the color!! it´s a color that I normally don´t see everyday... so I kept it in my closet and had this idea from a Burda Magazine in mind for some months... and a few days ago finally went to the fabric store and finally bought supplies...

Check out what I did to give a second life to this piece:

1- This is the boring blazer... but nice color:

2- Fabric store and got 1/2 yard of each color: light pink and a redish-orange one.

3- Measure fabric from the side and mark with succors future strips of 3 - 2 - 1 inch do this with each color, ripe it out by hand and take away the little thread that will come out of it, until each strip of fabric is nice and clean, and you are sure that is not gonna come any more thread from it....

4- After you have your strips, just start pining from the collar down, don´t do it all the way around cause it´s going to curve on the top, and look weird.... so cut strips in have and start from the top down, do it as you like, go crazy a bit.... then sew with zig zag the ones on the bottom. And let the ends loose so it has some movement...

5- The skinny ones I pinned them on top of the showing zig-zag, and by hand, every 5 inches I sew a little bit, that you can´t even notice... and then... tadddaaaaa, voilá:

I totally love how it looks!!! funky, modern and very relax... I love it!!!

Rediseño T shirt *** Ruffles & Vuelos ***

Al fin me decidí a inventar un poco con un rediseño sencillo... me encantan los vuelitos o "ruffles" in English!! en la web encontré varias ideas de camisetas e incluso tutoriales parecidos, y bueno.... manos a la obra, les explico un poco los pasos por si alguien se quiere animar, es muy fácil, y el resultado me ha gustado mucho!!! :-))

1- Compré dos camisetas iguales, una para cortarla a tiras de más o menos 6 - 8- 10 centímetros, las más finas para la parte superior y las más anchas para la parte de medio y abajo...

2- Luego con la puntada más ancha de la máquina tirar una costura recta en el borde superior, la cual luego estiraremos poco a poco hasta conseguir el efecto del vuelito deseado, más o menos tupido, eso a opción...

3- Luego ir posicionando las arandelas o vuelos de manera que encajen y no se vean espacios en "blanco" por decirlo de alguna manera, que el de arriba tape el comienzo del de abajo, ir cosiendo con la máquina los vuelos en la camiseta. Yo comenzé de arriba para abajo, me fueron quedando curvados por la forma inicial del cuello. Creo que en otro intento podría probar comentar de abajo para arriba, tal vez resulte más sencillo aún...

4- Me iba probando la camiseta cada 2 vuelos para ver si me gustaba, me imagino que con la práctica eso no es necesario!!

Y Voilá.... aquí les modelo un poco:

Tengo que confesar que la versión de "modelo" no me gusta nada!! normalmente soy yo la fotógrafa!! Pero el efecto del t-shirt rediseñado me gustó mucho y quería ponerlo en el blog!!

Ustedes que creen? me dan alguna idea? :-))

Una idea sencilla y chula!!

Bueno hoy me re-integro al ciber mundo!!!! Buahh la visita de mi madre, las mini vacaciones, el calor abrasador y el trabajo, me retuvieron más de lo planeado!!! pero tenía algo guardado de hace un tiempillo..... todo comenzó cuando descubrí un blog amigo que me encanta!! tiene ideas muy inspiradoras, y para mi la autora es una artista genial!!

Los resultados, siendo honesta... pueden mejorar mucho, pero para un primer intento creo que está "usable" o "ponible" y con la práctica quedará espectacular!! les enseño:

Las instrucciones más detalladas y paso a paso es mejor que las vean en el link de arriba. Pero el broche es muy versatil, lo usé en la camiseta, en el pelo, y con el collar... Podría también ponerse en el bolso, de cinturon y mil cosas más!! tambíen puede ser un original regalo...
